My Philosophy of Education

This is my philosophy of education as it pertains to Secondary Social Studies class.   It was written as an assignment for Secondary Methods I.

Technology Article Summary

Standards: NETS-T 2.C

This summary was written for an Educational Technologies class.  The assignment was to read, summarize and react to an article that had to deal with technoogy in the classroom.  This particular article discusses the use of iPods in classrooms to help teach English as a second language, and eventually other subjects.

This is a list compiled of lessons and activities that can be used in a Secondary History class.  The list was created for an Educational Technologies to demonstrate skill in Microsoft Excel. 

Sample Newsletter

Standards: NETS-T 5.A

This was created for an Educational Technologies class to demonstrate skills in Microsoft Publisher.  This is a newletter that describes the activities of a fictional High School Latin class. 

Sample SmartBoard lesson

Standards: NETS-T 4.A and 5.A

This is a SmartBoard lesson that teaches the roles in feudalism as well as the manor system.  There are several games and high-engagement activities present.  This was created for an Educational Technologies class.

Hundred Years War / Joan of Arc power point

This is a power point that I constructed as a teaching activity for a unit on Medieval Europe.  This powerpoint focuses on the Hundred Years War, its effects, and a special focus on Joan of Arc.  This power point was created for Secondary Methods I.

This power point was created as a teaching activity for a unit on Medieval Europe for Secondary Methods I.  It involves content, photos and a link to a video. (video not included)

Tiered Lesson Plan and Worksheet

Standards: NETS-T 6.B

This was a lesson created for a Special Education class.  This lesson focuses on teaching the cases in the first declension.  Each tier is given a similar assignment, with a different level of difficulty and content.
